1973 Oldsmobile -This pristine Cutlass began as a 1972 Corvette
by SCOTT "SCOOTER" STRENZEL

Dennis and Karon Piskorowski cancelled their order for a 1972 Vette in order to order up our featured Cutlass. And the reason for this change of style was strictly functional.
They were avid campers back in 1972-73, so Dennis dropped the Vette order and ordered up this sharp Cutlass Supreme so they could tow their Coachmen travel trailer.
Dennis even had to order two different cars to get the bucket seats they wanted. I guess the sales man goofed up the first time in Sept of 1972 and checked to have it built with a bench seat instead of the buckets Dennis had requested. The second time was the charm and they took delivery Nov. 27, 1972.
Over the years they towed another two travel trailers in typical trouble free Oldsmobile fashion. As the years passed by their Cutlass came to bond with them so much that they have simply kept it. And now it has turned out to be an old car person's dream. It is a total no rust ever car and has the original engine and interior and has had only one repaint to stock Chestnut Brown metallic.
Dennis and Karon have even become the principle organizers of the "You gotta be there" cruise night. Every Monday night they close off the street downtown in Lapeer for cruise night. They typically get over 200 cars and when they draw for the 50/50 the other half goes directly to the local homeless shelter.
Dennis has had the 350 beefed up some via a cam, headers 455 heads, electronic ignition and custom manual cut outs. He then had the still good trans removed and up dated to a 200R-4 so he could have overdrive.
He's running those cool looking 17-inch wheels from the INTRO boys from out west. It has P.S. and P.D.B., tinted glass and the factory AM-FM radio. But there is no AC. Dennis figured that might give them over heating troubles when towing the trailer.
Dennis and Karon don't let the dust settle on them or their Cutlass. They are active members of the Only Olds ... Motor City Rockets. Plus, I ran across them last year at the Awesome Old 27 tour that Craig Parrish does a bang up job on in August.
